BLOC Family Life Center

While not everything was completely finished, the BLOC Family Life Center opened with resounding excitement!
There were minor delays with some areas due to the unusually soggy weather and other circumstances so details won't be finished for a few more days.  Every major project has that kind of thing happen, and this was definitely a huge project!  God has blessed CCC and the BLOC from the beginning, however, and we know He will use it for His glory for many years to come.

That's not to say the enemy hasn't tried to interfere.  We battled on many fronts through this year:  uncertainty, illness, personal trials, mild panic, to name a few.  We made it to the Friday afternoon before the grand opening and suddenly the weather was forecasting rain for Sunday.  Well by this time even a non-Calvinist is going to say if it rains it's God's plan.  It may pour but guess what...we still have the BLOC! God built it and He can handle anything that comes our way.

As it turned out, Sunday started with rain still forecast, and lots of clouds covering the sky.  But in Cadiz there were only a few little sprinkles, and the cloud cover kept it from being too hot.  Lots of people turned up to celebrate including former youth minister David Diener and his family. David had a big hand in the concept and design of the BLOC and it wouldn't have happened without him.

The festivities started with the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.  The Mayor of New Castle, Greg York, and our own Don Cummings cut the ribbon. They were attended by all the children of CCC.   We had music, food, inflatables for the kids, pony rides, Skillet Toss competitions and Corn Hole tournaments.  Basketball players filled the new gym, teens sat in the new lounge area and talked.  The BLOC was filled with noise and life, and it was very good.

BLOC stands for Building Lives On Christ, and that is what Cadiz Christian Church is all about.  We praise and thank God for His blessings and we trust that He will use CCC and the BLOC for His purpose for generations to come.
